Join a growing development program at John Tyler Community College Foundation. The Foundation seeks an enthusiastic full-time development services specialist to support foundation fundraising efforts and board activities. The specialist will play an important role in building and maintaining positive donor and board relationships and to the efficient and effective operation of the Foundation office. The specialist will manage the Foundation’s donor database, process and acknowledge contributions, produce queries and reports, execute mail merges, support events and alumni activities and provide administrative support to the office. In addition, the specialist serves as liaison to the Foundation board and its committees including meeting logistics and governance documentation.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a fundraising or alumni environment, preferably in higher education and will have a high level of competency with Raiser’s Edge or comparable fundraising or donor relationship platforms. Experience planning events and working with boards is also required as is proficiency with computers and software applications including Microsoft Office and Adobe.
The specialist must be able to use judgement and analytical skills to organize and prioritize work and to problem-solve. He or she must be able to work independently as well as have proven flexibility in working in a team environment and with a wide variety of stakeholders. Excellent oral and written communications skills, adaptability to change, a commitment to accuracy, and outstanding customer service skills are necessary. Application closes on 2/16.
